To make government services more accessible and inclusive, MyGov on Monday announced that citizens will be able to access the MyGov helpdesk on WhatsApp to access the DigiLocker service. As a flagship initiative under the Digital India programme, DigiLocker aims to strengthen ‘Digital Empowerment’ by giving people access to authentic digital documents in their digital document wallet. The documents issued in the DigiLocker system are treated at par with the original physical documents i.e. physical documents.

According to a press release, citizens can now access DigiLocker services on the MyGov helpdesk on WhatsApp. DigiLocker will be an important citizen service provided by MyGov on WhatsApp, which will help promote digital inclusion and efficient governance. This includes creating and authenticating the user’s DigiLocker account, downloading documents such as PAN card, driving license, vehicle registration certificate, among others, on WhatsApp.

The MyGov Helpdesk on WhatsApp is a major step in ensuring that governance and government services reach the citizens easily. With new additions like DigiLocker, MyGov Chatbot on WhatsApp aims to build a comprehensive administrative support system for citizens to access resources and essential services that are digitally inclusive.

Using the new update, WhatsApp users in India will now be able to access Digilocker on the messaging app by sending a message saying “Digilocker” to +91-9013151515. It allows users to create and authenticate their DigiLocker account, along with PAN card, driving license, CBSE class 10 pass certificate, class 10 mark sheet, class 12 mark sheet, vehicle registration certificate (RC), insurance policy and non- Will bring options to download life insurance policy. Like the Digilocker app and website, users accessing the service through WhatsApp will have to provide their Aadhaar number for authentication. Once the Aadhaar number is given, the chatbot will validate it with a one-time password (OTP) so that you can download documents from the messaging app.
