Now you can also transfer payments through WhatsApp


WhatsApp Pay has been launched in India. The company has had to wait for almost three years. Testing has already been done and it has already been given to some users as testing.

According to WhatsApp, people can now send money from it. If you also use WhatsApp, you can activate WhatsApp Pay. Significantly, NPCI has only allowed 20 million registered users so far.

WhatsApp has over 400 million users in India. For now, only 20 million users will get this feature. This is because NPCI has recently set a 30% camp on third party UPI transactions. It will come into effect from January 1, 2021.

How to activate WhatsApp Pay

First, update your WhatsApp app by visiting the App Store or Google Play Store. Depends on which iPhone or Android smartphone you use WhatsApp.

The first step is to open WhatsApp and go to settings. If the payment option is shown in the settings, then further process has to be started.

When you go to the payment section, you will get the option of New Payment and Add New Payment Method. You have to select Add New Payment Method. If you already use WhtasApp Pay then this article is not for you.

The third step is to go to Add New Payment Method and select your bank. Many banks will get the list here. After selecting the bank, your account will be verified. Here you will find the option of Verify Via SMS, you have to select it.

The thing to note is that for this, your WhatsApp number and the number linked to the account must be the same, then verification will take place.

Once the verification process is complete, tap on Finish Payment Setup. You will now have the option to set up a UPI PIN as given in other applications. UPI PIN must be entered on every payment.

After the setup is complete, you will be able to send money on WhatsApp only. All you have to do is tap on Contacts on WhatsApp as you do for chatting. Here you have to go to the attachment icon. Amount must be entered by tabbing on Payment option.

WhatsApp Payments can be sent not only to WhatsApp users, but also to those who have UPI active. When sending money, you can also send money by writing notes or text.
